Los Jameos del Agua
Los Jameos del Agua is one of the most emblematic places on the island of Lanzarote. This space, created by César Manrique and inaugurated in 1968, was the first Centre for Art, Culture and Tourism on the island. It forms part of one of the most significant works of his career, in which he transformed the natural environment into a unique space, integrating architecture, art and nature. The site is located inside a volcanic tunnel formed by the eruption of the Corona Volcano.
The Jameos del Agua Auditorium is an underground space made of basalt rock, with a capacity for 550 people. Over time, it has become a cultural reference point on the island, dedicated to music, the performing arts, and institutional events.
The Former House of the Volcanoes is a museum whose objective is to share the volcanic origin of the island, offering visitors a deep immersion into Lanzarote’s geological history. It also includes the César Manrique Room, in collaboration with the César Manrique Foundation, dedicated exclusively to the artist and his work.
